This is an upper-intermediate French grammar lesson in which you will learn which conjunctions require the subjunctive. This lesson is meant for learners who have already learned how to form the subjunctive.

Step 1: Download your lesson guide
Step 2: Listen to the audio lesson
Step 3: Listen to audio instructions before opening the story.
Step 4: Read the story aloud using the subjunctive with conjunctions. An English translation is provided on the second page.
Step 5: Listen to the audio version of the story.
Step 6: Listen to the story again, and read along (aloud).
Step 7: Practice forming the subjunctive with conjunctions with your set of 25 practice cards. An answer key with English translations is included. There is a no print version that you can open on your device as well as a version with 4 cards per page that you can print and cut out in case you enjoy being away from the screen.
Step 7: Listening comprehension and oral production: Listen to the audio recording of all of the sentences from the practice cards. Each sentence is read twice. Practice oral production by reading along aloud with me. Use your answer key to read along.

Your Instructor
Jennifer is originally from Louisiana, and has been teaching French for over 20 years. She has been living in France with her husband and children since 2013, and continues to teach French both online and locally. She completed a BA in French and English, and taught French and moved to France for a year before completing an MA degree in French literature and language. While living in the US, she taught French for 15 years at Saint Louis University High School, a Jesuit college preparatory school for young men.
