French Gerunds - Le Gérondif Français
This is a comprehensive lesson on le gérondif français for upper-intermediate B2 level learners. You'll learn how French gerunds don't work like English gerunds, what a gerund is, how to form them, and how and when to use them. This is an essential grammar lesson for advanced French learners.

Step 2: Watch the 30 minute video lesson, and you'll see how French gerunds don't always work the same way as English ones. What's a gerund?? I'll teach you that, how to form them, and when and how to use them.
Step 3: Practice cards , Set 1 - Use your set of 50 French gerunds practice cards practice and master forming them.
Included:
- 50 numbered practice cards - 4 per page for printing and cutting out
- 50 numbered practice cards (the same ones) - 1 per page for online use
- Numbered answer key
Step 4: Translation practice cards , Set 2 - Use your set of 50 gerund practice cards to work on translating from English to French. These are the same cards that you used in set 1, but this one is meant to be challenging, so I've added in some sentences to be translated that DON'T need gerunds. Watch out for those!

Step 5:
Continue to practice forming French gerunds with these fun crossword puzzles. The clues are French verbs in the infinitive form. Be sure to write your answers using the preposition EN before the gerunds. 3 versions and answer keys are provided.

Your Instructor
Jennifer is originally from Louisiana, and has been teaching French for over 20 years. She has been living in France with her husband and children since 2013, and continues to teach French both online and locally. She completed a BA in French and English, and taught French and moved to France for a year before completing an MA degree in French literature and language. While living in the US, she taught French for 15 years at Saint Louis University High School, a Jesuit college preparatory school for young men.
