French Dictation Exercise - Dictée - Interdictions et Devoirs
This is a beginner level dictée with the following theme: Interdictions et Devoirs
Six sentences are included, the vocabulary theme is en cours de français, and the grammar is basic. The following verbs are used in the present tense: être, devoir, avoir, falloir. The following infinitives are used: parler, discuter, écouter, participer, utiliser, envoyer, mâcher. There are many direct, indirect, and partitive articles in this dictée.

"Dictation is the transcription of spoken text: one person who is "dictating" speaks and another who is "taking dictation" writes down the words as they are spoken. Among speakers of several languages, dictation is used as a test of language skill, similar to spelling bees in the English-speaking world."

Jennifer is originally from Louisiana, and has been teaching French for over 20 years. She completed a BA in French and English, and taught French and moved to France for a year before completing an MA degree in French literature and language.
